The Girlfriend Movie Review: Rashmika Mandanna Is Making An Impressive Comeback In The Girlfriend, Which Offers A Lot Of Emotional Depth And Delivers It Only To Some Extent. It Follows Love, Obsession, And Freedom; Guided By Rahul Ravindran, It Is Practically Entirely Done By The Gorgeous Portrayal Of Rashmika.
Rashmika Portrays The Pain Of A Love Which Turns To Be Suffocating As Bhooma Devi, A Coy Literary Student Who Falls In Love With The Attractive And Bossy Vikram (Dheekshith Shetty). It Starts As A Romantic Love Affair But Gradually Develops Into A Whirlwind Of Emotion, And This Snatches At The Strength And Courage Of Bhooma.
Nothing Can Be Denied To Rashmika, Who Is The Undisputed Anchor Of This Film. Graceful, Expressive, Heartbreakingly Real. Dheekshith Shetty Is Disturbingly Accurate In His Dark, Jealous Role, Though Rao Ramesh And Rohini Both Shine In The Sporadic But Significant Roles.
The Film Is Poetically Shot Despite Its Lack Of Visual Effect And Thoughtful Symbolism, But The Second Half Is Dragged Down By Excessive Pacing, And The Writing Is Repetitive. The Emotionality Of The Story Seems To Slip Away On Itself, And Is Rescued By The Brilliance Of Rashmika Alone And The Graceful Filming By Krishnan Vasant.
Finally, The Girlfriend Is More Of An Acting Piece Than A Full-Fledged Movie, Breathtaking In Its Heart, But Stumbling In Its Steps.
