About Idli Kottu Movie:
Murali (Dhanush) Has His Dreams Outside His Small Village Of Shankarapuram, Where His Father Sivakeshavulu (Rajkiran) Operates A Small Restaurant Named Idli Kottu. Murali Defies His Father To Follow The Hotel Management In The City, And At A Later Stage Of Life, He Gets A Job In Bangkok With A Top Food Chain Owned By Vishnu Vardhan (Sathyaraj).
Murali Impresses Vishnu With His Hard Work And Skill, And He Is Going To Marry Off His Daughter Meera (Shalini Pandey) To Him. When Everything Appears To Be Going Well In Life, Tragedy Befalls, Murali Loses His Parents One Right After The Other. The Sorrow Takes Him Back To His Village, Where He Resolves To Carry On With The Legacy Of His Father By Bringing Back Idli Kottu.
His Choice Is, However, Confrontational, Particularly With The Pompous Brother Of Meera, Ashwin (Arun Vijay), Who Interprets This Decision As An Insult By Murali. The Movie Takes The Shape Of A Conflict Between Ambition, Love, And The Call Of Roots.

Dhanush Also Directs, And Stars In Idli Kottu ( Called Idli Kadai In Tamil ). The Movie Has A Nostalgic Tone Reminiscent Of Other Films, Such As Swades, As The Film Centers On A Son Returning To His Roots. But The Implementation Is Erratic.
- On The One Hand, It Has Some Real Emotional Sounds – Namely, The Father-Son Relationship, Which Is Actually Made Colorful By Rajkiran, And Some Heart-Warming Scenes In The Village.
- On The Contrary, The Story Moves In A Familiar Direction With A Typical Rich-Poor Dynamic, Melodramatic Performance, And A Sluggish Second Act.
