Funky Movie Review

Funky Movie Review And Rating: Funky Is A Movie About Komal, An Insane Film Director Of A Movie Called Funky, Played By Vishwak Sen. The Pressure Has Its Toll On The Producer Of The Film As Production Costs Spiral Out Of Control (Naresh Vijayakrishna). As His Health Fails Him, His Daughter, Chitra, Depicted By Kayadu Lohar, Assumes Power.

Willpowerful To Bring The Situation Under Control, Chitra Takes A Bold Step. She Replaces Komal In The Seat Of The Director And Finishes The Film Without Any Hiccups. The Next Thing Which Ensues Is The Clash Of Egos In An Awkward Situation And Situational Comedy. The Storyline Of The Story Revolves Around A Single Question: Is Komal Capable Of Recovering His Lost Power?

Funky Movie Review: What Clicks

Vishwak Sen Is One Of The Lighter Sides Of This Funky Movie Review. His Roles Are Characterized By His Mass-Driven Ones, But Here, He Turns A Gear And Becomes More Playful And Comic In Nature. His Talent To Make One-Liners Sound Funny Only Intermittently And His Energetic Screen Presence Make Several Scenes Not Entirely Fall On Their Own.

Kayadu Lohar Also Brings Grace And Assertiveness To Her Character. She Stands Her Ground Well, And Her Screen Chemistry With Vishwak Sen Is Very Much Needed, As The Story Is Otherwise A Shambles. Some Comedy Scenes Sprinkled Throughout The Movie Do Succeed In Creating Some Real Laughs.

Moreover, The Movie Has A Reduced Length, Which Is Also An Advantage Of The Film. The Short Pace Prevents The Randomness Of The Elements Of The Show From Draining The Audience Completely.

Funky Review: Where It Falters

Although The Aim Of It Is A Free And Easy Entertainer, Narrative Consistency Is A Problem With Funky. The Movie Is More Of A Series Of Accidental Comedic Scenes Than A Story With A Beginning And An End. The Scenes Are Glued Together In An Unnatural Way, And It Is Hard To Experience Emotion.

Director Anudeep KV, Who Once Balanced Silliness And Narrative Grip, Appears To Lack Such In This Case. The Screenwriting Does Not Have A Great Conflict Or Emotional Center. Even The Effort To Instill Feeling Towards The Climax Appears To Be Forced And Does Not Have An Effect.

The Music Performed By Bheems Ceciroleo Is Not Notable, And The Tracks Do Not Add Any Value To The Atmosphere And Remain Unforgettable. There Are Parts Of Dubbing That Seem Out Of Place And Some Of The Side Tracks — Especially The Sampath Raj Subplot; Seem To Be Redundant And Do Not Seem To Be Connected To The Overall Story.

Technical Perspective

As Far As Visuals Are Concerned, The Movie Has Its Moments. The Movie Is Shot Using Bright, Colorful Frames By The Cinematographer Suresh Sarangam, And This Makes The Movie Look Glossy. The Standards Of Production Are Average, Whereas The Editing Is Rather Wobbly, Especially Because The Screenplay Is Not Very Coherent.

The Problem With Anudeep Kv Is That He Relies On The Use Of Punch Lines Rather Than Developed Comedy Scenes Which Is The Greatest Weakness Of The Film. Although There Are Some Jokes That Do Work, There Is No Continuity In Humor.

Final Word

In Conclusion Of This Funky Movie Review, The Movie Comes Out As A Mediocre Comedy Drama, Which Heavily Relies On The Quirky Dialogues Without Being Keen To Pay Attention To Good Storytelling. Vishwak Sen And Kayadu Lohar Give Dedicated Performances And Some Few Scenes Do Bring Laughs. Nevertheless, The Lack Of Plot And Commitment Is What Does Not Make Funky A Full-Scale Entertainer.

Rating: 2.5/5
