Dhandoraa Telugu Movie Review Is An Eye-Opener To A Movie That Puts Intention Before Style. Dhandoraa Prefers The Lesser Road In The World Of Big-Budget Spectacles, The More Realistic, Socially Conscious, Emotionally Conflicted One. The Movie Tries To Revive The Discrimination Based On The Caste Not In A Loud Melodramatic Manner, But Through A Nuanced Narration As It Reveals Its Purpose Gradually.
The Story Is Set Against The Background Of Unified Andhra Pradesh In 2004, And The Main Characters Of The Story Are A Farmer, Sivaji, Played By Sivaji, And His Children, Vishnu, And Sujatha. Their Apparently Normal Lives Are Interrupted As Ravi, Is A Young Man Belonging To A Marginalized Community And Played By Ravi Krishna, Falls In Love With Sujatha. What Starts As A Sweet Inter-Caste Affair Develops Into A Very Volatile One, As Social Barriers, Fear Of Being Judged, And Prejudice Within Oneself Start To Control The Outcome.

The Narration Takes The Form Of A Story. The Movie Starts In The Middle Of A Courtroom And This Raises Some Questions, And Then It Proceeds To A Long Flashback. This Method Enables The Director To Investigate Not Only The Chronological Progression Of Events, But Also Emotional And Psychological Logic Of These Events. Rather Than A Shock Effect, The Conflict Is Building Up Naturally Via Moral Tension And Repressed Emotions And The Drama Becomes Disturbingly Disturbingly Real.
One Of The Strengths Of Dhandoraa Is The Thematic Angle. Cinema Telugu Has Tended To Focus On Oppression Of Lower Castes, But Director Murali Kanth Devasoth Gives It A New Twist Thus Showing How The Very System That Allows Some To Thrive Can Turn Against Them And Ruin Those Who Support It. Such A View Adds A More Emotional Twist To The Second Half. The Last Hour, Especially The Courtroom Scenes, And The Climax, Are The Most Interesting Parts Of The Movie, Where The Random Stories Converge.
Performances Are Very High In Enhancing The Material. Sivaji Has A Domineering Performance That He Carries With Believability. Nandu Develops Well As Vishnu, In A Son Torn Between Family Feudalism And Consciousness. The Frustrated Sarpanch Navdeep Provides The Comic Relief Albeit Very Short But Not At The Expense Of The Seriousness Of The Film. Bindu Madhavi And The Cast Around Her Maintain The Rural Approach And Performance Is Grounded.
With That Said The Movie Is Not Smooth-Sailing. The Initial Part Is Unbalanced, And The Pacing As Well As The Sudden Time Changes At Other Moments Ruins The Atmosphere. Certain Interactions Between Characters Should Have Been Further Developed To Increase The Emotional Appeal.
Mark K Robin Has A Good Fit With The Mood Of The Film And Venkat R. Shakamuri Picks The Right Shots To Portray The Rough, Primitive Landscape. Editing Is In Line With The Vision Of The Director But Could Have Been Made At An Earlier Stage.
Verdict: Dhandoraa Is A Genuine, Content-Focused Film Which Really Breaks Its Voice In The Second Part. It Might Have A Rocky Beginning But It Is A Film That Makes A Great Impression With Excellent Performances And A Contemplative Storytelling Approach. An Excellent Watch To All Those Who Are Willing To Watch Meaningful Films, Rather Than Films That Are Driven By Formula.
