The Film Is Directed By Debutant Praveen K, And The Film Begins With A Sensational Start As A Man Kills Himself On Live Television, Only To Announce That Over The Next Five Days, He Would Kill Several People.
That Is Athreya, Whose Role Is Eerily Believed By Selvaraghavan. His Outrageous Gesture Leaves A Chilling Message That Every Day One Victim Will Be Killed And Their Name Will Be Announced Precisely An Hour Before They Are Killed. The Case That Cannot Be Solved Falls Into The Hands Of A Sharp, Composed Cop Officer Nandi (Vishnu Vishal), Who Is Hell-Bent On Cracking The Code That Athreya Has When The Next Name Is Called. When Bodies Start To Fall And Clues Are Darker, Nandi Starts To Race Against Time, And She Has A Hard Time Figuring Out The Psychology Of The Plan Of The Killer And The Secret Meaning Of The Words That He Has Managed To Say In The End.
The First Half Of Aaryan Is Attention-Grabbing In The Way It Has A Compelling Set-Up And Smooth Execution. The Storyline Flows At A Nice Pace, The Killings Are As Clockwork, And The Direction Of Praveen K Keeps The Tension Going With Bare Minimal Distractions. Vishnu Vishal Plays The Role With Silent Stubbornness And The Threatening Calm. Vishal Selvaraghavan Uses Underlines The Eerie Mood Of The Movie. The Score Is Complemented By Androgynous Ghibran Background Music And Visual Sharpness By Harish Kannan, That Puts The Film In A Sleek Perspective.
This, However, Starts To Die At The Point Of The Second Half Of The Story. Logic Is Pushed Aside, And The Investigation Is Too Biased Towards Making Easy Shortcuts In The Form Of Instant Data Tracing, CCTV Scans, And Unending Computer Trails That Can Nevertheless Not Save Anybody. The Supporting Characters, Shraddha Srinath, Reporter In Particular, And The Family Subplot Of Maanasa Choudhary Do Not Contribute Much To The Overall Story. The Emotional And Psychological Resolution Is Insufficiently Cooked By The Time The Mystery Is Solved, And The Climax Is One-Dimensional And Unmemorable.
Ultimately, Aaryan Is A Thriller That Starts Well, But It Does Not Find The Full Potential Of It. It Is Fast, Slick, And Conceptually Interesting, But Lacks The Depth And Reasoning To Give It Any Long-Lasting Interest. A Just One Time Watch Flickering In And Out.
